The Process

1. Preparation & Base Coat

   • Substrates (typically mill-finish aluminum) undergo chemical pretreatment for adhesion and corrosion resistance.

   • A polyester powder base coat (60–90 microns thick, VOC-free) is electrostatically applied and cured at 210–220°C, forming a tough, protective layer.

     
     

2. Sublimation Transfer

   • A pre-printed heat transfer film with organic pigments is wrapped around the coated metal.

   • Vacuum suction ensures flawless pattern adhesion.

   • During oven curing, the pigments transfer permanently into the powder coating, creating a lifelike wood grain pattern.
