Wood Effect Powder Coating
At Rainbow Powder Coating we bring together the warmth and realism of natural wood grain with the strength and longevity of metal. Our wood effect powder coating technology allows aluminum, galvanized steel, and other metal substrates to replicate the beauty of timber while delivering superior durability, weather resistance, and sustainability.

By choosing wood-effect finishes, you benefit from:
The fabricating and structural advantages of metal
The aesthetic appeal of natural wood grains
Eco-friendly solutions that help reduce global deforestation

Why Choose Wood Effect Powder Coating?
Traditional hardwood is costly, difficult to recycle, and vulnerable to wear. In contrast, Rainbow’s wood effect coatings combine recyclable metals with realistic wood finishes, offering:
Over 200 grain patterns & tones from oak, walnut, and teak to exotic finishes
UV & weather resistance prevents fading under harsh sunlight
Resists corrosion, abrasion, and humidity better than real wood
Low maintenance with no varnishing, staining, or sanding required
Eco-conscious choice – preserves natural forests by reducing timber use
The Process
Preparation & Base Coat
Substrates (typically mill-finish aluminum) undergo chemical pretreatment for adhesion and corrosion resistance.
A polyester powder base coat (60–90 microns thick, VOC-free) is electrostatically applied and cured at 210–220°C, forming a tough, protective layer.
Sublimation Transfer
A pre-printed heat transfer film with organic pigments is wrapped around the coated metal.
Vacuum suction ensures flawless pattern adhesion.
During oven curing, the pigments transfer permanently into the powder coating, creating a lifelike wood grain pattern.
