Architectural & Industrial Powder Coating
Rainbow Powder Coating specializes in architectural and industrial-grade finishes that combine aesthetics with durability. Powder coating is the process of applying a dry polymer powder using electrostatic charge and then curing it under heat to form a tough, uniform, and long-lasting finish—far stronger than conventional liquid paints.
Our Process
Surface Preparation
Every part is carefully prepared through chemical or mechanical cleaning to remove dirt, grease, oils, old finishes, and oxidation. Proper preparation is essential for adhesion and durability. At Rainbow, we adapt the method based on the substrate:
Ferrous / Steel items – phosphate pretreatment followed by oven drying
Aluminium - etching, degreasing, and chromate conversion for optimal bonding
Powder Application
Using an electrostatic spray gun, the powder is positively charged while the grounded part attracts it. This ensures excellent coverage, reduced overspray, and minimal waste compared to traditional painting methods.
Curing
Coated parts are baked in ovens at 200–210°C, allowing the powder to flow and fuse into a smooth, continuous “skin.” Cure time and temperature vary depending on the powder chemistry and part thickness.
Quality Assurance
All coatings are inspected for consistency, coverage, and finish integrity, with workflows aligned to QUALICOAT best practices for architectural aluminium.
